Description

Isogeometric approach in structural analysis as the numerical procedure can be used as a solver for numerous engineering problems. In order to define geometry of the structure CAD software packages are used. These software packages are based on the functions capable to accurately describe various geometrical shapes. Utilizing isogeometric approach unknown fields of the structure are described using the same functions which are used for the geometrical representation of the structure. Results obtained using isogeometric approach have shown good accuracy with a fewer number of degrees of freedom in comparison to the classical finite element method.
