Dr Gligor Radenkovic, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Belgrade and long-time visiting teacher at the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, University of Banja Luka, passed away on October 19, 2019, after a short and severe illness.
He was born on 30 August 1956 in Klisura, Surdulica. He enrolled at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Belgrade in 1975 and graduated in 1980 with a degree in Structural Engineering. He received his master's degree in 1983 and his doctorate in 1989. From 1980 to 1985, he worked as an associate at the Engineering Computing Center of the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Belgrade.
He was appointed as an Assistant Professor of Theory of Structures in 1995, and in 2003 to the position of Associate Professor. Professor Radenković has published a number of papers in scientific journals and international and national scientific conferences. He has also published five monographs in the field of Theory of Structures. He participated in four research projects funded by the Ministry of Science and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Serbia.
He was a member of several professional associations and a participant in a number of engineering projects. He was known for his keen enthusiasm for science, which he conveyed with tremendous energy to students and associates.
