Participation of members of the Department at the International Conference Eurosteel 2026

16.09-18.09.2026., Kraków, Poland

At the international Eurosteel 2026 conference, held from September 16 to 18, 2026, in Kraków, Poland, ongoing research conducted at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Belgrade, in the field of modern steel and composite structures was presented.

The Department of Engineering Mechanics and Theory of Structures was represented by Associate Professor Dr. Svetlana Kostić and Teaching Assistant Jelena Nikolić. At the conference, they presented findings from ongoing research on the behavior of steel-concrete composite columns incorporating recycled aggregates and the numerical modeling of composite columns following exposure to fire.

The research was presented through the following papers and presentations:

  1. Data-Driven Modelling of Composite Recycled Aggregate Concrete-Filled Steel Tube Columns (https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/cepa.70710) – Jelena Nikolić, Nikola Tošić, Juan Murcia–Delso, Svetlana Kostić

  2. Numerical Modelling of Post Fire Behavior of CFST Columns (https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/cepa.70410) – Milan Bursać, Svetlana Kostić

In addition, Associate Professor Svetlana Kostić chaired a conference session dedicated to the reuse of structural steel elements.

Participation in Eurosteel 2026, Europe's largest conference dedicated to steel and composite structures, represents a significant contribution to the international visibility of research conducted at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Belgrade. It also provides an important opportunity for exchanging knowledge and experience with researchers and professionals from across Europe and around the world.
